A picture of the south side of the old Busch Memorial Stadium which includes a view of the Gateway Arch in the distance. This photograph captured in October, 2003 was taken by Jim Epler during the fall in Saint Louis, MO on an access road overpass near the stadium. It is cataloged under the terms cities, sports and architecture in this photography database.
The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak GOLD 200 color film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 55mm f/1.8 lens.
Photographer Comments: I like this picture because it reminds me of Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, a ballpark I went to many times as a youth to watch my beloved Phillies play baseball. The Vet was demolished and is no longer around and I wish I had more pictures of its interior and exterior for sentimental reasons. The same might now be true for die-hard Cardinal fans who saw their ballpark brought down by the wrecking ball in late 2005. I like the little storage container in the lower left corner of the frame that has the words Go Cards on it.

Additionally, Jim thought of search phrases (i.e. terms) that a person who is actively seeking pictures on the Internet related to this particular topic might employ when performing his or her exploration including the words structure, columns, ramp, Saint Louis Cardinals, concourse, Bush Memorial Stadium, baseball, levels, ballpark, ramps and mezzanine, so he included these on this details page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this royalty free photograph! |
