An early morning view of the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. This photograph dated September 05, 2006 was taken by Jim Epler in the late summer in Yosemite National Park, CA from on top of a rock in the middle of the stream bed. It is cataloged under the terms nature, woodland scenes and lakes & rivers in this photography database.
The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak Kodachrome 64 color slide film stock using a Canon Digital Rebel xTi camera with a Canon 17-40mm f/4 L lens.
Photographer Comments: I used Photoshop's dodge tool to lighten some of the shadow detail and the burn tool to darken the face of El Capitan. I took inspiration from Ansel Adams, who routinely used dodging and burning to add effect in his own unique interpretation of Yosemite!
Additionally, Jim thought of search phrases (i.e. terms) that a person who is actively seeking pictures on the Internet related to this particular topic might employ when performing his or her exploration including the words brook, stream, Yosemite, river, Merced, trees, nature and El Capitan, so he included these on this details page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this royalty free photograph! |
