A photograph of a man outside a pub in Georgetown comforting a crying child.

A snapshot of a man comforting a crying child outside of a Georgetown pub in Washington, DC. This photograph captured in September, 1999 was taken by Jim Epler during the fall in Washington, DC a bistro in Georgetown. It is cataloged under the terms street photography, people, cities and urban scenes in this photography database.

The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 black & white film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 55mm f/2 lens.

Photographer Comments: I snapped this quick picture as I walking down a street looking for interesting things to photograph. I was actually a few seconds late, and wished I had captured the child's face a second or two earlier. If I had, it would have won an award! The gentleman was not very pleased that I took the picture. I didn't stick around to chat and he moved on to focus on more important things.

Additionally, Jim thought of search phrases (i.e. terms) that a person who is actively seeking pictures on the Internet related to this particular topic might employ when performing his or her exploration including the words father, District of Columbia, baby, child, asian, crying, street photography, man, slice of life, pub, Georgtown, restaurant, decisive moment, Washington and cry, so he included these on this details page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this royalty free photograph!
